Self Defense -- As It Might Be And Ought To Be

The following is a video which was the introductory minute for an episode of the ABC tv series Boston Legal. It exemplifies, in a humorous way, how an honest, self reliant man would deal with a criminal in a free society.

Denny Crane- Guns @ Yahoo! Video

Seems a mite cold, until one realizes that when a man turns to crime, he is metaphysically committing suicide (by denying the right to life, he denies his right to his own life), and the hand that pulls the trigger is his own.

They've killed Freedom! Those bastards!

    LOL

Didn't know that was from Boston Legal, Michelle had it on her blog yestiddy, without attribution.

Reminds me of that scene in the Shootist where the bandit tries to rob John Wayne. JB tosses the robber the wallet and says wallet, and something extra, pulls the revolver and plugs the bad guy.

Can I use that defense when he wakes me up at 2:00 AM riding dirt bikes and blasting shitty music?

Can I blast him out of his Fruit of the Loom boxers with a 12 gage? Please?

After all, hasn't he denied his own right to life by screwing with mine?

  4. TWC,

I just saw The Shootist a month or so ago. Great movie.

  5. goml,

Y'know, I never kick about the sound of a Harley, but crotch rockets and dirt bikes are annoying as hell. A remedy might be the way Steve McQueen got the German bike he was riding in The Great Escape.

  6. That was fun, I don't watch very much network television so I would have missed this had you not posted.

    Thanks

Now can we start using this technique on the criminals in Washington, DC?

I knew you, in particular, would enjoy this clip.

  12. Oswald,

I'm partial to the .45, but a 12-gauge pump would certainly get the job done!

  13. RWR,

It'd certainly make life easier for all of us if it could be done. I'd include the local politicians, as well.

  14. By pump I meant heart & assorted plumbing, center of chest!

I'm another fan of all things .45 (I own six of them!)
