A Better Children's Prison?

This blog article is worth a read. While I still think that education should be separated from the state by a titanium wall thirty feet thick, and while I think regimentation and enforced conformity is a huge mistake, these children's prisons seem to be getting results.

An interesting article, thanks for linking to it. The issue would be how to justify a public school system which intends to actually teach students with the rest of the public schools which work under the idea that dumb kids are better for the work force.

TF,

I can't attribute it, but I've read that the "public school" system was set up in part to not let working class children get beyond the point of blue collar work. Now and then, fairly often, a youngster excels and manages to not only get through college, but do well in his profession. The average schlub like me though, lives with a shovel in his hand.

I've read that too, Colonel. One of today's huge problems is the total lack of an environment for learning in our public system. There is a fear of litigation that has taken over in it. The result is near chaos and a lack of learning at the early levels on up through high school.
